FAQs
Can I specify a delivery time?
No. We can guarantee that your flowers will be delivered between 9am and 6pm on the date of delivery. We cannot specify time of delivery.
How does temperature affect flowers?
Heat causes flowers to respire at a higher rate and therefore wilt. The cooler the room or location they’re in, the longer the flowers will last. Cold or draughty conditions may also cause petals to dry out. A moderate, sheltered position is best.
Why cut stems at a 45° angle?
Stems will dry out when out of water. By re-cutting them at an angle, you are removing dry fibre and creating a larger surface to take up fresh water, therefore prolonging the life of your flowers. For all flower arrangements, simply top up the water level every 3 days to ensure maximum lifespan.
Should I use flower food?
Yes. Flower food which is has been supplied with your bouquet or arrangement contains three additives which nourish flowers and deter bacteria:
- sugars to feed the blooms and encourage buds
- biocides to kill the fungi, yeasts and bacteria
- acidifiers to encourage water to rise up flowers’ stems
Do lemonade, coins, sugar or aspirins make flowers last longer?
No, they can encourage the growth of bacteria.
How will I know that you have received my order?
Your Sydney flower delivery order will be acknowledged via email confirming all details once you have entered a correct email address and payment has been received. We will also email you a delivery tracking number for any future correspondence regarding the delivery of this order. Once you receive a confirmation email, we ‘The Flower Studio’ Sydney are bound by contract with you to acknowledge your order.
Do you deliver FLOWERS at the weekend?
No, we only deliver Monday to Friday.
Can I order champagne when ordering flowers?
No.
How do I cancel flowers?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before delivery for a full refund. If you cancel 12 hours before the intended delivery date a 50% cancellation fee will apply. To cancel your Sydney flower delivery order please do so via the ‘Contact us’ area of The Flower Studio website.
